Did you know avocado is not a vegetable, it is a fruit. And here I thought all fruits were sweet, avocado is definitive not sweet.
There is around 20 nutrients in an avocado: iron, folic acid, copper, sodium, potassium, vitamin A, several B-complex, vitamin C, vitamin E, phosphorus and magnesium is just some of these. There is almost NO sugar in this, and the absence of that and starch makes this an ideal fruit for diabetics. It is also great source of antioxidants. Because of the density, it is just as filling as a lets say a banana ( it can therefor replace bananas in a lot of recipes, which is good if you are allergic or sensitive to bananas like me).
Avocados also is slow-burning fuel, meaning it keeps you full for a long time. It is also a great source of fruit oils. One medium avocado contains about 270 calories, depending on the size.
