Butternut and Sweet potato mash

Its def. getting a little bit colder. I’m lucky to be in a country where it still gets up in the 80-90 F (20-30 C). But its in not as warm as it has been, and with the cold winds comes the Autumn vegetables. Butternut squash and sweet potatoes both have a lovely orange/yellow color.  This mash goes with a lot of different things: meat, tofu or chicken.


1/2 butternut squash

1 sweet potato

1/2 tsp salt

1 tbs butter(of your choice)

1/4 cup (or little less) milk (of your choice)

salt, pepper and paprika powder to taste


 1.Place the vegetables in a pan with cold water and salt. Bring to boil, and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until vegetables are soft.

2.With a potato masher mash the  vegetables and add butter, milk and spices.
