Daily workout 19.04. 2012 & the Mom Factor- How to find the time to workout!!!

So as a new mom. I found it hard to come back into my rhythm of working out. But due to the workout itch I came up with a way. My husband is gone a lot, and the first  9 month of my sons life I was pretty much a single mom.  During a normal day I will always do a 10-30 min workout at home. Go for a walk with the stroller for 30 – 60 minutes, and then if possible go to the gym. I was lucky enough that I had my network around me, so that 4 times a week I would go to the gym at night time.  It is important to find time to do some kind of workout, even if its only 10 minutes.  Lift up those dumb bells, or do that yoga, anything helps.  It is the “doing nothing ” factor that is the bad thing.

The home workout I usually do when my son is taking his nap in the morning. But sometimes I  do the workout when he is awake, just brings an extra challenge, and sometimes extra weight to the workout.

On that note. Here is my workout of the day. Do always remember to warm up.

30 V-situps

Lay down on the mat,  and reach hands up, at the same time lift your legs into a  v.  Lower legs an hands.  Repeat.

30 Side planks with knees ( on each side).

Core tight. Squeeze the glutes. Lift knee, and hold for 5 counts. Repeat.

30 Scissors

Lay flat on mat. Lift up legs into a v, and cross the feet as shown on picture. Hold legs up, and switch. For a harder workout lower your legs further down towards the mat.

———————————

Repeat this 3 rounds.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! Please leave a comment, I love to hear from you!

Have a great Thursday!

Oh the struggles of being a new mommy! I am constantly looking for a way to do something for an hour a day. My 1 yr old starts to get really fussy if we’ve been on a walk for anything longer than 40 minutes – and even that was an accomplishment! One of these days I’ll be able to do my 3-5 mile walks again – either with her or without her (I need to shed the working mom guilt of not spending enough time with her first if it’s without :))
Thanks for posting this easy routine so that I can supplement in my house!

I def. know that feeling. Have you tried a carrier? To strap to your chest? I I always make sure to have some toys with me, or stop and take him out .I hope that you get back into your long walks again:) It is a struggle, but they are such a blessing to have:)

I tried a few months ago to put her in one of those, but she was not having it. I’m going to have to try again 🙂 Thanks for all the suggestions!
