Cinnamon-more than just flavouring

This is something you might use everyday, or at least a couple of times a week as a spice. But did you know that cinnamon is actually good for you?

Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices in the world, and can be found in countries such as India, Vietnam, Brazil, Sri Lanka,  and  Egypt. There is two kind of types of cinnamon commonly used: Ceylonese and Cassia.  For the powder form of cinnamon the Ceylonese cinnamon is used due to being sweeter in flavor.

The bark of the cinnamon three is dried and rolled, and later grounded to powder.

Cinnamon is used in a lot of medicine, and known to be used for  nausea, diarrhea, painful menstrual periods, colds, improve energy, vitality, circulation, and  also a remedy for diabetes,  and indigestion.

The medical aspect of it:

1) Has antifungal and  antibacterial properties, and has therefor been used for vaginal yeast infections and oral yeast infections.

2) Anti-inflammatory properties meaning  can be used to decrease inflammation in the body.

3) Lowers blod sugar, and fights “bad”cholesterol in the body.
