Some actually use flax seeds as a replacement for fat in cooking and baking. It has a ratio of 3:1( 3 tbs flax seeds for 1 tbs margarin, oil or butter).
When it comes to nutrition it has omega-3 acids, dietary fiber, several minerals and vitamins.
